Just overshadowed by the beginning and end of the night.Bring family and friends to experience Holiday Lights Spectacular – an annual walk-through experience just in time for the holidays. The pumpkins were very creative and made the middle of the experience enjoyable. I will not go back and if anyone asked me my opinion, what I just wrote is what I would tell them. People around me were stunned and after this whole experienced totally ruined the night. In addition on the way out the RUDEST volunteer confronted me for truly NO reason. Waiting in line for 1 hr and 20 minutes for 40 minutes of pumpkin watching is not how I would choose to spend my night. People were bumping into each other - not safe for children and the elderly. Dangerous with the amount of people going through. Of course people are going to buy because they're so darn hungry waiting to get to see the main event. To charge $13.00/pp and expect people will wait in a line for over an hour, only to be inundated by vendors charging you for unhealthy food is crazy. ![]() If you are going to host something like this, which is a great concept - figure out how to better manage the crowds. This is not about the zoo directly, but how they managed this event. you will stand in a never moving line for far longer than you will see the pumpkins. I also feel that $15 per person is a bit of a steep admission price, especially for small children.ĭon't waste your money. If I had known we'd be standing in line for almost two-and-a-half hours, we probably would have left and gone another night. I am giving this attraction a 4-star rating mainly because there is no information at any point as to how long of a wait to expect. I would strongly recommend doing this on a weeknight when the crowds are smaller. Once we got into the exhibit area, it was really amazing. ![]() It had to be especially hard for families with small children. We shuffled along in another huge line for another hour-and-a-half before we got to the display area. ![]() It was nearly 40 minutes before we made it to the ticket window. Once we found a place to park (about a half-a-mile away), we encountered a very long line of people in the parking lot waiting to get into the zoo. We went on a Saturday night and the traffic was backed up for a mile. That being said, be prepared for the longest lines this side of Disney World. The work and the detail that goes into the designing, preparing and lighting of some 5000 pumpkins for this exhibit is truly remarkable. First off, I have to say that the Jack-O-Lantern exhibit at the Zoo was truly spectacular.
